24 Years Experience Long Time Broward Resident.
"I graduated from Florida State University - College of Law in 1995, and over the past nearly 25 years of practicing law, my practice has covered every area of law that is handled by the County Court.
A long-time resident of Broward County, I went to Pines Middle School and, in 1989, I graduated from Cooper City High. I attended the University of Florida for 4 years, graduating in 1993 with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. I attended law school at Florida State University, and received my JD degree in 2 and 1/2 years, where I was also awarded the Pro Bono Service Award at graduation.
After graduating law school at age 24, I started working as a law clerk and then as an attorney for a solo criminal defense attorney for a couple years in the mid-1990s. Soon thereafter, I accepted positions with the PD offices in Pensacola and then in Orlando. In 2001, when former Public Defender Al Schreiber hired four of us from the Orlando PD’s office, I returned home to Broward & practiced criminal defense representing the indigent residents of our County for another five years.
In 2005, I started my own practice and although criminal defense & appeals have been the primary focus of my practice, I have also successfully represented people in other areas of the law over these past 15 years of running my own law firm. I have been appointed to represent hundreds of indigent parents in Dependency cases whose children have been removed by DCF – I have also taken on Termination of Parental Rights cases, as well as many contested family law cases with divorce trials and child custody trials. I have also represented dozens of people in personal injury cases, landlord-tenant disputes, and general civil matters.
I am a member of the Broward County Bar Association, and the Florida Bar Association.
